The Expedition Media LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates The Expedition mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign in with Apple, we receive:
- Email address (or Apple's private relay email, if you choose to hide your email)
- User identifier (a unique ID assigned by Apple)
Trip & Travel Data
When you use the App, we store:
- Trip names, dates, and context notes you create
- URLs you submit for recommendation extraction
- AI-generated recommendations, destinations, and source links
- Place references (names, coordinates, Google Place IDs)
Automatically Collected
- We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or analytics data
- We do not use any tracking or advertising frameworks
- We do not use cookies
How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Authenticate your account and secure your data
- Store and display your trips and recommendations
- Process URLs you submit through our AI extraction pipeline
- Provide location-based place information
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted on AWS in the United States
- Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using the iOS Keychain
- Row-level security policies ensure you can only access your own data
Data Retention
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active
- When you delete your account, all associated data (trips, destinations, recommendations, sources, and profile) is permanently deleted
- Shared reference data (place information) is not deleted as it may be used by other users
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the App. Account deletion permanently removes:
- Your authentication account
- All trips, destinations, and recommendations
- All submitted sources and extracted data
- Your user profile
This action cannot be undone.
Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at hello@theexpedition.com so we can promptly delete it.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data (visible within the App)
- Delete your account and all associated data (via Settings)
- Export is not currently available but may be added in a future update
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by updating the “Last Updated” date above.
